RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A second younger juvenile was charged Friday in a Raleigh July Fourth shooting in the Brier Creek area as part of at least two “teen takeovers” that attracted thousands and left nine people shot during the holiday weekend, police said Saturday.

Two weeks ago, a 16-year-old was arrested in the same incident where police said 3,000 teens gathered and two adult bystanders were injured in a shooting at the Brier Creek shopping center.
The arrest on Friday of the 15-year-old happened in Durham County, a Raleigh Police Department news release said.
Officers said the 15-year-old was involved in an incident initially reported as a fight just after 10:25 p.m. Saturday, July 4, at the Brier Creek Commons shopping center, according to a Raleigh Police Department news release.
After many teens were removed from a store, a large fight erupted outside, police said.
Gunshots were fired during that fight and disturbance, according to officers.
“During the chaos, two innocent bystanders, both adults, were injured,” police said. One bystander was hit by gunfire while the other was injured by flying glass when a bullet shattered a window, police said.

Officers said Saturday that the 15-year-old arrested Friday is facing the following charges:
- Assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill
- Discharging a firearm into occupied property (two counts)
- Felony riot
- Going armed to the terror of the public
- Possession of a firearm by a minor
Raleigh police said six juveniles have now been charged in four shooting investigations from the Independence Day teen takeovers.

On Friday, officers announced the arrest of a 17-year-old girl in a shooting at a Capital Boulevard gas station linked to the weekend events.
Raleigh police said six juveniles have now been charged in four shooting investigations from the Independence Day teen takeovers.
The remaining cases at 700 Tucker Street and 620 West Lane Street are still actively being investigated by detectives, police said.
