HIGH POINT, N.C. (WGHP) — Detectives began investigating the murder of a High Point man on Friday, according to a High Point Police Department news release.

At about 5:05 p.m., patrol officers were sent to an unknown trouble call in the 1200 block of Carter Street.
When officers arrived, they found William R. Dockery, 70, of High Point, unconscious in the backyard, suffering from traumatic injuries.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. A suspect was later arrested in Virginia, according to police.
