Officials with the Wake County Public School System confirmed to CBS 17 that HVAC issues are impacting Reedy Creek Middle School in Cary and Salem Elementary School in Apex.
According to Facilities and Operations Chief Mark Strickland, other schools are having minor air conditioning issues in some classrooms, but staff have been able to keep things running smoothly.
“Our principals are a great bunch,” Strickland said. “They are very adept at moving students to different places in schools that may be fully or don’t have a lot of flexibility. They still find creative ways to utilize gyms, art rooms, and media centers. I think they’ve done a really great job with it.”
