CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WJZY) — An east Charlotte storage unit purchased at an auction led to the discovery of meth, fentanyl, and nearly 25 pounds of cocaine, police said Friday.

According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, a caller in the Hickory Grove area in eastern Charlotte reported purchasing a storage unit at an auction.
The caller told authorities about the discovery of what appeared to be packaged drugs among the various items inside the storage unit, police said.

Officers conducted an investigation that led to the seizure of a significant quantity of illegal narcotics including:

- Nearly 25 pounds of suspected cocaine
- More than 3 ounces of suspected methamphetamine
- Approximately 0.89 ounces of suspected fentanyl
The Mint Hill Police Department assisted in the investigation.
“Excellent teamwork and collaboration to keep dangerous drugs out of our community!” Charlotte police said in a news release.
