Tree lands on home that caught fire on Guess Road in Durham, department says

DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — A tree landed on home that had caught fire in Durham Sunday night, officials said.

According to the Durham Fire Department, firefighters received a report of a blaze just before 7:30 p.m. at a house in the 3500 block of Guess Road.

Upon arriving, according to the department, firefighters reported a large tree fell through the back of the home.

A small fire was also seen on the roof, according to the department.

Officials said about 35 firefighters responded to the incident, who brought the fire under control in a few minutes.

One person was displaced and is receiving assistance from the American Red Cross, according to the department.

According to the department, no injuries were reported.

Officials said the cause of the fire was determined to be accidental.
