DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — A Durham man was arrested Tuesday after being accused of shooting at a woman inside a vehicle earlier this month, a warrant shows.

According to a warrant filed by the Durham Police Department, 50-year-old Jonathan Randolph Elliott allegedly fired shots at a vehicle occupied by a woman in the 2300 block of Cape May Lane on Aug. 2.
Elliott was taken into custody on Tuesday, two days after the warrant was filed last Friday, Aug. 14, according to court records.

The warrant shows Elliott was convicted in 2006 of trafficking in cocaine by sale.

Elliott is charged with two counts of discharging a weapon into occupied property and possession of a firearm by a felon, according to the warrant.
According to court records, Elliott was not given bond. His first appearance in Durham County court is scheduled for Tuesday morning.
