WAKE FOREST, N.C. (WNCN) — The North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles is looking to use an existing office in northeastern Wake County to open a new location in Wake Forest or Rolesville, officials said Monday.

According to officials, the NCDMV posted a request for proposal for office space that can accommodate driver license operations and a license plate agency in northeastern Wake County.
The request comes after the NCDMV received funding in the state budget to open a driver license office in the region, as well as hire 10 new examiner positions, according to officials.
The NCDMV said it also plans to relocate its contracted license plate agency to the same location.

The Wake Forest and Rolesville area is considered “fast-growing” by officials.
“Northeastern Wake County continues to grow rapidly, and our customers deserve convenient access to the full range of DMV services close to home,” NCDMV Commissioner Paul Tine said in a statement. “This new office, supported by additional examiners and a co-located license plate agency, will help us meet rising demand and further improve the customer experience in this important part of the state.”
Proposals for the new NCDMV office may be submitted online. They are due by Sept. 11 at 4 p.m.
