Motorcyclist dead after crash along Gorman Street, Raleigh police say

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A motorcyclist is dead following a crash Thursday night in Raleigh, police said.

According to the Raleigh Police Department, officers responded to the intersection of Gorman Street and Walnut Creek Parkway at about 10 p.m. regarding a crash involving a motorcycle.

When officers arrived, according to police, they found a motorcycle and a pickup truck had been involved in a crash. The driver of the motorcycle was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police said the motorcyclist later died from his injuries at the hospital.

An investigation determined a pickup truck was turning out of the apartments off Walnut Creek Parkway on to Gorman Street when it pulled in front of the southbound motorcycle, leading to the crash, according to Raleigh police.

Police said the driver of the pickup truck, who was not injured, remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment.

Charges are pending against the pickup truck driver, according to Raleigh police.
