Off the field, however, questions have continued to swirl. The investigation into former general manager Mike Lombardi continues, and with both sides lawyered up, very few comments and updates have been publicly released.
The status of the head coach’s son, Steve Belichick, also remains unknown. The younger Belichick is UNC’s defensive coordinator, but has been on medical leave since early August.
