RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — The Carolina Hurricanes have announced a new way for fans in the area to watch their games this upcoming season.

On Wednesday, the team said its new Hurricanes Hockey Network will make games available on streaming as a subscription on Prime Video.
“Given the evolving landscape of sports broadcasting, it is vital that we make sure we are meeting our fans where they are,” said Mike Sundheim, Vice President of Communications for the Canes. “Streaming is a key piece of that puzzle, and we are thrilled for the launch on Prime Video, which is readily accessible across a variety of devices.”
In addition to live coverage of games, the Hurricanes Hockey Network will also broadcast “comprehensive pregame and postgame shows,” a news release said.

The subscription will cost $19.99, or can be purchased as an annual pass for $99.99. The news release said a paid subscription to Prime Video is necessary, but a free Amazon account is needed to buy a Hurricanes Hockey Network subscription.
The service will be available for in-market fans only. Canes fans outside the designated television market area will be able to continuing watch games through NHL Center Ice or NHL Power Play on the ESPN App.
