TUTTLE, Okla. (KFOR) – An Oklahoma family says their home was listed as an Amazon hub location without their knowledge or consent, leaving them with loads of mystery packages on their doorstep.

Drivers kept delivering totes full of other people’s packages to the home in Tuttle, Oklahoma, for about a week.
“Why they’re here, we don’t know,” the couple’s daughter-in-law, Kristi Dowlearn, said. “We’ve had Amazon drivers coming by and dropping off hub packages on my in-laws’ front stoop, porch and just leaving them there.”
When she looked through the address labels, Dowlearn said most were intended for addresses within a five-mile radius.
They don’t understand why it all started but said they’ve been told by drivers that their home was listed as a “hub,” part of the company’s network of physical pick-up spots designed to make deliveries and pick-up easier.

“One driver did take theirs back,” she said. “But other drivers have said, ‘No, this is where we’re supposed to leave it,’ and left it.”
Dowlearn said her in-laws are in their 80s and don’t even have an Amazon account. They haven’t been able to get answers when they’ve tried.
“It is not secured … It’s a zipper flap that anybody could come and go and get what they want out of it. So, who’s responsible for that?” Dowlearn said. “Are these people going to start showing up here trying to find their packages? I mean, my in-laws don’t need all that traffic at their house.”
An Amazon spokesperson said in a statement to Nexstar’s KFOR: “We understand how frustrating this experience has been for the family, and we sincerely apologize. Our team is actively investigating to make the necessary corrections so it doesn’t happen again. In the meantime, we’re working to retrieve these packages as quickly as possible.”

The family told KFOR that Amazon came to pick up the packages Thursday evening.
