Raleigh, N.C. (WNCN) — The Raleigh Police Department is investigating after Raleigh firefighters found a body in a pond late Saturday afternoon.

Firefighters were first called to an area near the 2400 block of E. Millbrook Road shortly after 4:00 p.m.
Battalion Chief Richard Siebel told CBS 17, crews were first called to the scene for a missing person. After talking with people at the scene, responders deployed a boat and a submersible drone.

Battalion Chief Siebel said the drone was used to locate the body around 5:15 p.m. Firefighters turned the case over to Raleigh police and the Wake County Forensics Department before helping remove the body from the water. Raleigh police have taken over the case. The man’s name has not been released.
