BUNN, N.C. (WNCN) — Franklin County Public Schools is mourning the loss of a high school student in a car crash over the weekend.

The death of Bunn High School senior Juan Alvarado Vazquez was announced by Principal Tyler Morris in a letter sent on Monday to the Franklin County community.
“The loss of a student is heartbreaking and impacts an entire school community,” Morris said in a statement. “We know Juan’s passing will be deeply felt by his classmates, friends, teachers, coaches, and all those who knew and cared for him.

According to the principal, grief counselors and additional support personnel will be available at Bunn High School throughout the week for students and staff. Officials are also encouraging families to talk with their students and reach out to the school if any additional help is needed.
“Please join us in keeping Juan’s family, friends, classmates, and the entire Bunn High School community in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time,” Morris said in his statement.
