Heat advisory issued for central NC counties Tuesday

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — High temperatures and humidity continue to blanket central North Carolina this week.

The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued another heat advisory, this time for Tuesday, for several counties, including parts of the Triangle and the Sandhills. Heat index values could reach 105, according to forecasters.

Tuesday’s heat advisory will be in effect from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. Several of the same counties are already under a heat advisory Monday until 8 p.m.

Counties impacted by Tuesday’s heat advisory include:

  • Chatham
  • Cumberland
  • Edgecombe
  • Franklin
  • Harnett
  • Hoke
  • Johnston
  • Lee
  • Moore
  • Nash
  • Sampson
  • Wake
