FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — The emergency department parking lot at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville will have a new entrance, officials said Wednesday.

According to the health system, the new entrance will allow patients and visitors to turn directly from Village Drive to the emergency department parking lot.
The new entrance will open on Sunday, Aug. 30, according to the health system.

Officials said the emergency department is not moving and will remain in its current location.

The current entrance, which is located farther down Village Drive near Conover Drive will remain open through Sunday, Sept. 6, according to the health system.
Officials said new signs have been installed at the new entrance to show drivers where to reach the emergency department, while other signs will be updated to align with this change. There are also temporary traffic signs on Village Drive to help people find the new entrance.
