Part of central NC under severe thunderstorm warning as cold front brings unsettled weather Friday

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — As a cold front moving across central North Carolina brings unsettled weather, storms have started to pop up across the region.

The National Weather Service in Raleigh issued a severe thunderstorm warning at 2:57 p.m. that includes the west central part of Chatham County. It is expected to be in effect until 3:45 p.m.

Forecasters said the main hazard expected with this storm is 70 mile-per-hour wind gusts.
