Severe thunderstorm watch issued for Triangle, surrounding counties Tuesday

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Storms are beginning to make their way through the CBS 17 viewing area, prompting the National Weather Service in Raleigh to issue a severe thunderstorm watch for all of the Triangle.

The watch was issued at 6:50 p.m. Tuesday and is set to be in effect until 1 a.m. Wednesday. The following counties are included in the alert:

  • Franklin
  • Granville
  • Harnett
  • Hoke
  • Johnston
  • Lee
  • Moore
  • Nash

  • Wayne
  • Wilson
