Sunday cool and damp, ahead of nice fall week

Sunday will be a wet day across central North Carolina, with showers continuing through the morning and afternoon before gradually becoming lighter and more scattered Sunday evening. The showers will slowly taper off overnight as the cold front clears us out through Monday morning. Sunday will only see highs in the 60s with clouds and showers around most of the day.

Monday will be a mostly cloudy and mild day across Raleigh, with temperatures climbing into the mid to upper 70s. We could see a stray shower early, but most of the day should stay dry. Tuesday will feel a little more like fall as cooler, drier air settles in. Skies will turn mostly sunny, with highs in the lower to mid-70s and cool mornings in the upper 40s to lower 50s. Wednesday to Friday should see very nice weather with a slow warming trend through the end of the week.

The next chance of rain appears tobe at the end of next weekend for now. We will fine tune the details on that this week. More good news out of the tropics as the Atlantic remains quite with high wind shear in control
