Sunshine continues as pattern starts to warm up

It’s going to be gorgeous and mostly sunny for the remainder of the week. But it won’t feel quite as comfortable, as heat and humidity start to make a comeback.

Lower 80s on Tuesday will give way to mid-80s on Wednesday, before upper 80s to around 90 degrees make a comeback to end the week on Thursday and Friday. If we manage 90 degrees on either day, it would be the first time seeing 90s in October since 2019.

The weekend turns more unsettled as a cold front approaches the area on Saturday and stalls across the region. Showers and storms are possible both days of the weekend, with Sunday looking like the wetter of the two days. Both afternoons will feature upper 70s and lower 80s.

We’ll start to dry out again just in time for the new work week, with sunshine and mid-to-low 70s flowing back in as October begins to take hold.

In the tropics, a new tropical system formed Monday morning. Tropical Storm Hanna is expected to remain below hurricane status and eventually drop back down to a depression and remnant low by the end of the week.

Even with October starting on Thursday, we’ve yet to see our first hurricane of the season.

Just 62 days remain in hurricane season, which ends after Nov. 30.
