HENDERSON, N.C. (WNCN) — A Vance County man won the $110,000 Cash 5 jackpot last week, lottery officials said.

Joe White of Henderson bought the Cash 5 ticket at Dabney Convenience Store on Ruin Creek Road in Henderson and matched all five white balls on Sept. 3 to claim the $110,000, according to the North Carolina Education Lottery.
According to NC Lottery, he odds of White’s victory are 1 in 962,598.

Officials said White didn’t believe he won the jackpot as he was presented with his big check.
“I didn’t believe it,” White said in a statement. “I still don’t.”
Holding up his big check, White said in his statement, “Look at this. I got to hang this on my wall.”

White visited lottery headquarters in Raleigh on Friday to pick up his prize. He received $79,211 after state and federal tax withholdings, according to NC Lottery.
According to NC Lottery, White plans to visit family in Florida with his winnings.
