ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WNCN) — Police in Rocky Mount said Sunday that four people — including two women — were shot in three unrelated incidents within 10 hours starting Friday night into Saturday morning.

The shooting began late Friday night in the 1200 block of East Grand Avenue, where two women were found shot, with one hospitalized.
About four hours later, early Saturday morning, a man was critically injured in a shooting along the 1200 block of N. Wesleyan Boulevard, according to a Rocky Mount Police Department news release.
Then, about 6 hours later, a woman shot a man during a dispute in the 1400 block of Shirley Leak Avenue, police said.
“At this time, investigators do not believe these incidents are connected, and there is no known ongoing threat to the public related,” officers said in the news release.

Below are more details from Rocky Mount police about each shooting:
Friday, just before 11:05 p.m., officers responded to the 1200 block of East Grand Avenue about a shooting with injuries. Upon arrival, officers located two females suffering from gunshot wounds. One victim was transported to UNC Nash Health Care for treatment and was later released from the hospital. The second victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was not transported, police said.

Saturday, just after 2:40 a.m., officers responded to the 1200 block of N. Wesleyan Boulevard for a shooting with injury. Officers arrived and located a man suffering from a gunshot wound, according to police. The victim was transported to UNC Nash Health Care. He was later transferred to ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, where he is currently listed in critical condition.
Saturday, around 9 a.m., officers responded to the 1400 block of Shirley Leak Avenue about another shooting incident. During the investigation, officers learned a male victim had been shot by a woman following an argument, police said. The victim was transported to UNC Nash Health Care and later transferred to ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville for further treatment.
“The Rocky Mount Police Department Criminal Investigation Division is actively investigating all three incidents,” the news release said.
