Video from a Goldsboro resident showed flames shooting through the tree line and an orange glow from the Magnolia Street fire early Saturday morning.
New photos from the ground show fire crews battling the inferno that was reported just after 12:10 a.m. Saturday at 413 Magnolia St.
The Goldsboro Fire Department released nearly two dozen photos Sunday of the two-story home on fire and crews who tried to extinguish the fire, but later had to back away.
When crews arrived, flames were seen shooting from the house, and three fire engines were already on their way. Soon, another fire engine was dispatched, and there were more than 15 firefighters at the scene.

The new photos showed up close as crews approached the home with flames raging just feet away inside.

Over time, the fire spread throughout the house, causing it to collapse. The fire was brought under control around 2:20 a.m., about two hours after crews arrived, Goldsboro fire officials said.
Goldsboro fire crews remained at the scene until about 7 a.m. Saturday “to salvage and overhaul the structure,” officials said.
