DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — A suspect is at large after a hit-and-run crash left a pedestrian dead in Durham County over the weekend, the North Carolina Highway Patrol said.

According to the NCSHP, the crash happened last Sunday, May 10, around 10:30 p.m. on Old Oxford Road between Thompson and Hamlin Road.
A preliminary investigation determined Barry Vaughn was walking on Old Oxford Road when he was struck by an unknown vehicle, according to the NCSHP.

Troopers said Vaugh was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the NCSHP, the hit-and-run vehicle is believed to have damage to its windshield. A windshield wiper may also be missing.
