Thursday will feature mostly clear skies and temperatures in the upper 90s. It’ll feel as hot as 104 thanks to increasing humidity. A heat advisory will go into effect at noon for Wake County and places to the west, lasting through 8 in the evening.
Friday will be even hotter, with actual air temperatures passing 100 degrees.
That trend of 100+ heat will last through 4th of July on Saturday and into Sunday as well. We’ll easily set the record for the hottest July 4 ever for Raleigh, with another record high or two possible along the way.
A return through the upper 90s to the lower 90s is on tap next week as the high breaks down and rain chances return. Unfortunately, it won’t be a widespread rain with just hit or miss showers and storms on any given afternoon.
