RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A man was critically injured in a Raleigh daytime Fourth of July stabbing beside a Food Lion along Capital Boulevard Saturday afternoon, police say.

The incident was reported at 4:40 p.m. in the 4500 block of Capital Boulevard at Calvary Drive near a Food Lion, according to a Raleigh Police Department news release and images from the scene.
When officers arrived, they found a man who was stabbed, suffering life-threatening injuries, the news release said.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
“Preliminary details indicate the incident happened during a domestic dispute between the victim and another male,” police said in the news release.

Video from the scene showed police closed part of the Food Lion parking area, along with Calvary Drive near Capital Boulevard, during the investigation.

The suspect was not found by late Saturday afternoon, according to police.
“This remains an ongoing investigation,” officers said in the news release.
