RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Parts of several central NC counties are under a severe thunderstorm warning Monday evening.

According to the National Weather Service in Raleigh, the counties and parts of other counties have been placed under the severe thunderstorm warning:
- Southwestern Moore County
- Hoke County
- Southwestern Cumberland County
- Scotland County
- Southeastern Montgomery County
- Richmond County
- Southwestern Edgecombe County
- Eastern Wilson County
NWS Raleigh said the cities, towns and villages impacted by potential hazards and the storms include Fayetteville, Raeford, Pinehurst, Aberdeen, Southern Pines, Hamlet, Manteo, Rockingham and Hoffman.

At the time of the warning, NWS Raleigh warns the hazards include wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour.

The warning is set to expire at 5 p.m.
