RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Wednesday brings another hot day with summer storms moving across central North Carolina.

As a result of some of these scattered systems, the National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a severe thunderstorm warning Wednesday for three counties.
The alert was issued at 5 p.m. and covers south central Johnston County, southwestern Wayne County and northeastern Sampson County. Towns and areas in the warned area include Mount Olive, Newton Grove and Spivey’s Corner. It is set to be in effect until 5:45 p.m.

Forecasters said the main threats with this storm are wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour.
