DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — A gas leak has prompted the evacuation of some buildings and the closure of some streets around the Durham Bulls Athletic Park and American Tobacco Campus on Wednesday.

According to the Durham Fire Department, as of 5 p.m., crews are on scene of “a large natural gas leak” at the corner of Jackie Robinson Drive and Blackwell Street, directly in front of the entrance to the DBAP and next to the ATC in downtown.

The fire department said responders are waiting on crews from Enbridge Gas and Duke Energy to come work on and secure the area.
