Harold Ewings, 49, is charged with three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and one count of assault on a person with a disability.
Warrants detail allegations that Ewings contributed to or encouraged children ages 14, 11 and 10 to commit sexual acts on a bus unsupervised. Other charges allege Ewings struck a disabled child and pushed them into a seat in his role as bus monitor.
Court Appearance
Ewings appeared in court before Judge Angela Foster on Thursday.
At one point, he asked to say something, but Foster directed him not to speak. The judge focused on appointing a public defender and set his bond at $25,000.
A condition of his bond is that Ewings cannot interact with any children under the age of 18 who are not related to him.
Four family members of Ewings were in the courtroom and spoke to the judge, telling her Ewings worked for First Student as a bus monitor for ten years.
Foster asked if Ewings is accused of participating in sex acts with children, but prosecutors repeated the information in the warrants, telling the judge they don’t have a police report with any more information yet.
He is expected back in court on July 31. FOX8 reached out to First Student with questions about Eweing’s employment history.
