DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — More than 2,000 Duke Energy customers are without power in Durham Thursday morning, the company said.
A map from Duke Energy shows the outage was reported at 6:15 a.m. in east Durham. It extends east to west from South Hoover Road to Fayetteville Street and north to south from North Hyde Park Avenue to South Alston Avenue.
According to Duke Energy, 2,489 customers are without power in Durham as of 6:41 a.m.

Power is expected to be restored by 9 a.m., according to Duke Energy.

The outage happened amid heavy rain conditions in central North Carolina, which are expected to last through the morning.
