AHOSKIE, N.C. (WAVY) — The Bertie County Sheriff’s Office found a car ditched in a field that they believe was linked to a drive-by shooting last week on Meadow Road.

Deputies and investigators were dispatched to the 1300 block of Meadow Road on Wednesday around 5:50 p.m. about a home that was struck by gunfire, according to the Bertie County Sheriff’s Office.
Upon arrival, they located a car in a field that deputies believed was involved in the shooting. Crews processed the car for evidence on Wednesday evening at the scene, which is about six miles southeast of Ahoskie.

The sheriff’s office says the investigation included viewing surveillance videos and interviewing witnesses.
