Central North Carolina’s return to sunshine will continue into the new work week. Temperatures will also continue to climb, with a severe weather risk on Monday and Tuesday afternoon.

A few showers are possible overnight into early Monday, with lows in the upper 60s under partly cloudy skies.
We’ll soar to a high near 90 degrees by Monday afternoon with a few very isolated showers and storms.
Tuesday will be the warmest and most unsettled day of the week as a cold front approaches. The front will spark a few rounds of gusty showers and storms, with a slight risk of severe weather across the area.
Behind the front, expect briefly drier and cooler conditions with highs back in the upper 80s with a lot of sunshine on Thursday.
Then daily pop-up showers and storms with highs in the lower 90s return as we say goodbye to July and begin August on Saturday.

FORECAST
OVERNIGHT will be partly cloudy with a passing shower or two. The low will be 68. Winds will become calm.
MONDAY will be mostly clear with a few scattered showers and storms in the area. The high will be 90. Winds will be light and variable.
TUESDAY will be partly cloudy with a round of gusty showers and storms in the afternoon and evening. The high will be 93. Winds will be out of the southwest at 5 to 10 miles per hour.
