Heat Advisory issued for Wednesday across central NC, as record September heat wave continues

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — It’s about to get even hotter. 

Highs on Wednesday are expected to be a degree or two above where they topped out at on Tuesday, with widespread humidity.

As a result, a Heat Advisory has been issued for much of central North Carolina and down to the coast for heat index values as high as 105 degrees. The advisory runs from 11 a.m. Wednesday morning through 8 p.m. in the evening. 

With heat not going anywhere for several days thanks to high pressure, it’s likely we’ll see one or two more days with heat advisories to end the week.

Be sure to stay hydrated and stay inside as much as possible.

Signs point towards a little relief by the weekend and early next week. But we have several days of dangerous heat to get through before then.
