No threat to public after ‘multiple’ killed in Caswell County, NCSBI says

CASWELL COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) —The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is being called in to assist the Caswell County Sheriff’s Office in a shooting investigation.

According to the NCSBI, the CCSO responded to call just before 8 a.m. at a residence on Brooks Road in Prospect Hill.

Deputies found multiple people who had been shot. One person was taken to the hospital and there are “multiple” other fatalities, according to the SBI and CCSO.

Sheriff Tony Durden requested the assistance of the SBI for the investigation, and the SBI are on the scene processing evidence and conducting interviews while the sheriff’s office works to notify next of kin.

The SBI emphasizes that there is no threat to the general public and that the event was “contained” to the address where it happened.
