DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — Two people were shot — one critically injured — at a Durham shopping plaza area along University Drive early Saturday morning, police said.

The double shooting was reported around 3:15 a.m. in the 3200 block of University Drive near Academy Road, according to a Durham Police Department news release.
Both shooting victims were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police said one victim suffered life-threatening injuries while the second victim has “possible life-threatening injuries.”

The police news release said it was not known if any suspects were found or if anyone was detained following the double shooting.

Later Saturday morning, crime scene tape was found at the shopping center, which includes a Domino’s and, until sometime last month, a Mexican tortilla shop.

No other information was released by police.
