RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Parts of several central NC counties have been placed under a severe thunderstorm warning Monday.

According to the National Weather Service in Raleigh, the following counties or parts of the counties have been placed under a severe thunderstorm warning:

- Sampson County
- Eastern Cumberland County
The Warning is set to expire at 7:30 p.m.
A warning for the following counties and parts of counties expired at 6:45 p.m.:
- South central Johnston County
- Northeastern Cumberland County
- Southeastern Harnett County
Cities and towns impacted by the warning included: Clinton, Dunn, Benson, Godwin, Newton Grove, Wade, Salemburg, Falcon, Hobbton and Spivey’s Corner.

Hazards include 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-sized hail.
