The hottest temperatures since mid-July arrive Tuesday and last through late week. Highs in the mid-to-upper 90s with heat index values of 102 to 106 are likely for the next couple of days, with only a few downpours to help provide temporary relief from the heat.

SPC has parts of the area under risk for severe weather on Tuesday and Wednesday for damaging winds. But not everyone will see the strongest storms.
A cold front arrives Friday, bringing a slight uptick in rain chances and a slight drop in temperatures and humidity in time for the weekend. Upper 80s return for one day on Saturday before surging right back into the lower 90s on Sunday.
Every day has at least a chance of pop-up rain until the middle of next week. By then, more sunshine and dry weather should return to the mix before signs point towards another surge of intense heat for the second half of the month.

TUESDAY will be mostly clear with a few scattered showers and storms. The high will be 96 with a heat index of 103. Winds will be out of the west at 5 to 10 miles per hour.

OVERNIGHT will be mostly clear. The low will be 74. Winds will become calm.
WEDNESDAY will be mostly clear with a few isolated showers and storms. The high will be 96 with a heat index of 104. Winds will be out of the west at 5 miles per hour.
