SUV flips, smashes into tree in north Raleigh crash on Falls River Avenue

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — No one was seriously injured when an SUV flipped and smashed into a tree along a north Raleigh neighborhood street late Saturday morning, officials said.

The crash was reported around 11:10 a.m. at 2015 Falls River Avenue just south of Ashmead Lane, according to the Raleigh Fire Department.

Photos from the scene showed a black SUV on its side with the roof resting against a tree. The front windshield was knocked out, possibly used as a quick exit.

When fire and rescue crews arrived, everyone was out of the SUV and was checked by EMS crews for injuries, fire officials said.

One lane of Falls River Avenue was blocked after the crash.

It’s not clear how the crash happened, but no other vehicles were involved.

Green Hills County Park and trails are behind a fence on one side of the street of Falls River Avenue, where the crash happened.
