Thousands gather at Raleigh Convention Center for GalaxyCon

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — It was a busy weekend at the Raleigh Convention Center, with thousands of people daily making their way into Raleigh for the four-day event GalaxyCon.

From Thursday through Sunday, visitors to GalaxyCon got to enjoy a wide variety of memorable experiences, including meet-and-greets, autograph sessions and panels with famous celebrities, as well as vendors from all over the country offerings their products.

The spectacle though is seeing all the attendees in full costume, dressing up as their favorite superheroes or their favorite anime character.

Notable celebrities in attendance for GalaxyCon included William Shatner, Ke Huy Quan, Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong and Rainn Wilson among many others.

CBS 17 spoke with Vincent Martella, known for voicing the role of Phineas in the hit Disney Channel animated series Phineas and Ferb, and portraying the role of Greg Wuliger in the CW series Everybody Hates Chris.

“My experience at GalaxyCon has been awesome.” Martellla said. “I always love coming to their events. They do ComicCon the exact right way. We get to meet a lot of fans. There is a lot of things for fans to do around the area too. So, getting to come to Raleigh for GalaxyCon has been one of the best cons I have been to in my life.”

Tickets are now sale for the 2027 GalaxyCon, which takes place July 29 through Aug 1. at the Raleigh Convention Center.
