The hot humid weather isn’t going anywhere anytime soon!
Temperatures will stay in the mid to upper-90s through Thursday with heat index values ranging anywhere from 100-105°! Monday looks to be the hottest day, with temperatures approaching 100 and a heat index near 105.

While a few isolated storms are possible nearly every day, but by Friday, the pattern begins to shift as increasing moisture and a cold front will bring more rain and storms into central North Carolina, setting the stage for a noticeably cooler but also wetter weekend.
An early summertime pattern more reminiscent of July than mid-August stays in place Tuesday through Thursday. A strong ridge of high pressure will keep us hot, generally in the lower to middle 90s, with isolated afternoon storms possible each day.
Rainfall will be highly uneven during this period, meaning some locations could receive a beneficial downpour while others remain dry.
The pattern becomes more unsettled late in the week as the ridge weakens and a more favorable setup for widespread rainfall develops.
Friday and Saturday currently have the best rain chances of the ten-day period, with showers and thunderstorms becoming more numerous and temperatures dropping into the 80s. This could provide the most meaningful opportunity for widespread rainfall in the forecast, although the exact placement and rainfall totals will depend on how the cold front evolves.
Even with the wetter pattern late week, the summer heat will return quickly once skies clear, so the overall pattern still favors heat early, storms late, and a brief break from the heat heading into next weekend and next week, although the temperatures, while warm, will be more typical for this time of year.

TUESDAY will be partly cloudy with a stray storm. The high will be 94. Winds will be out of the north at 5 to 10 miles per hour.
WEDNESDAY will be partly cloudy with a spotty storm. The high will be 93. Winds will be light out of the north.
