Tropical Storm Cristobal, 3rd named storm of season, forms in the Atlantic

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — The third named storm of the season has formed in the central Atlantic.

Tropical Storm Cristobal is 880 miles west of the Azores with sustained winds of 45 miles per hour. It is quickly moving east at 25 miles per hour.

This is not going to be a long-lasting storm. Within less than 24 hours of forming, it will be a non-tropical area of low pressure.

While impacts will be felt in the way of gusty winds and rough waters for the waters and islands in that area, this will be a relatively low impact storm.
