WENDELL, N.C. (WNCN) — A Wake County man is accused of attacking a woman with a machete before pouring gasoline on the victim and threatening to kill her early Thursday morning, according to arrest warrants.

Court records show 19-year-old Charly Banos Jimenez is charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. He also faces misdemeanor charges of assault on a female, communicating threats, injury to personal property and misdemeanor crime of domestic violence.
According to the arrest warrant, Jimenez assaulted the woman with “machete and gasoline” with the intent to kill her. The warrant further alleges he grabbed the woman by her hair and poured gasoline on her.
Court records also allege Jimenez threatened to kill the woman under circumstances that caused her to believe the threat would be carried out.

The warrants state that the suspect and the victim were in a current dating relationship at the time of the alleged assault.
Jimenez is also accused of causing more than $200 in damage to a 2022 GMC Terrain.
Court records show Jimenez was scheduled to appear in Wake County court on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
