RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — The North Carolina Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting next week on a proposal to widen a road in Wake County.

According to NCDOT, officials are proposing to widen Poole Road from Barwell to Hodge Road by expanding Poole Road from two lanes to four and including a center median to separate traffic traveling in opposite directions.
The goal of the project is to reduce future traffic congestion, improve operations on the road, and support expected development, which will address ongoing growth and travel demand in the area, according to NCDOT.
NCDOT said the public meeting will take place on Monday, Sept. 28 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Barwell Community Center at 5858 Barwell Park Drive in Raleigh.
