DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — A Durham home was damaged by a heavy fire on Tuesday morning, officials said.

According to the Durham Fire Department, emergency personnel responded around 9:20 a.m. to a house fire in the 100 block of Carlion Drive.
When firefighters arrived, according to the department, they found heavy flames coming from the rear of a two-story home.
Firefighters said they quickly extinguished the blaze, which had advanced to the attic during the incident.

Two people, both adults, were displaced by the fire. The American Red Cross has been contacted to provide help, according to the department.

According to the department, no injuries have been reported.
Firefighters said one person was inside the home when the blaze started, but escaped safely before they arrived.
The incident is under investigation by the Durham County Fire Marshal. A cause has not been determined as of Tuesday morning.
