RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Heavy rain and winds are making their way through central NC Tuesday evening, triggering a few warnings from the National Weather Service in Raleigh.

The most recent Severe Thunderstorm Warning in the area was issued at 5:31 p.m. for Sampson, Harnett, Cumberland and Johnston counties, which is set to remain in effect until 6:30 p.m.
The NWS said radar indicated severe thunderstorms were moving in, along a line extending from near Fort Bragg to the Godwin area and moving southeast at 10 mph.

The main condition of concern is 60 mph wind gusts, which are expected to cause roof damage and could take down trees. For travelers, this includes I-95 between mile markers 75 and 41, as well as I-40 between mile markers 334 and 359.
