RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — More than 1,000 Duke Energy customers across the Triangle were without power Monday morning after overnight storms brought down trees and limbs, the utility company said.

The largest outage was reported in northeast Chapel Hill near the Durham County line, where about 992 customers lost electricity in neighborhoods along Durham-Chapel Hill Boulevard, according to Duke Energy’s outage map.
The utility said fallen trees or limbs damaged electrical equipment, causing the outage. Power was expected to be restored by 10 a.m.

In Raleigh, about 41 customers lost power in the areas surrounding Kaplan Drive in southwest and south Raleigh. Service was expected to be restored by about 8:30 a.m. Monday, according to the outage map.
Another outage affected nearly 50 customers along Rock Quarry Road near Proctor Road in Raleigh. Duke Energy estimated power would be restored there by about 7:30 a.m.
