Person, 2 animals pulled from house fire near Wake-Johnston county line, officials say

CLAYTON, N.C. (WNCN) — One person was taken to a hospital after an overnight house fire near the Wake County-Johnston County line on Monday, fire officials said.

According to the Garner Fire Department, firefighters responded to a home in the 4900 block of Guy Road around 12:56 a.m.

When crews arrived, they found flames coming from the front of the house and through the windows.

One person and two animals were rescued from the home. One of the animals later died, according to the fire department.

The resident was taken to a nearby hospital. Officials did not immediately know the extent of the person’s injuries.
