FAYETEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — An hours-long standoff between Fayetteville police and a man who barricaded himself in a home ended peacefully Sunday night.

According to the Fayetteville Police Department, the suspect reportedly ran into the Cedar Creek Road home when officers tried to serve him with warrants before 9 a.m. Sunday morning.
Police told CBS 17 that a woman and her children were inside the house at the time. Eventually the family was allowed to leave but the suspect refused to leave and barricaded himself in the attic.

This led to a standoff that continued throughout the morning, afternoon, and evening. Police confirmed the suspect gave up shortly before 8:00 p.m. and was taken into custody.

There were no reports of injuries, according to Fayetteville police.
