The Blue Devils (2-0) host the Stanford Cardinal Saturday afternoon at Wallace Wade Stadium. Kick off in Durham is set for 4 p.m.
Duke came from behind at Illinois last weekend to beat them 31-27. The win avenged the loss the Blue Devils suffered at the hands of the Fighting Illini last fall in Durham. In last Saturday’s game, running back Nate Sheppard rushed for one score and caught two touchdown passes from quarterback Walker Eget to lead Duke. Eget finished with 206 passing yards and three touchdowns.
Stanford comes into this weekend fresh off a bye week. In their last game on Sept. 4, the Cardinal lost 45-6 to then No. 7 Miami at home. Quarterback Davis Warren threw for 214 yards but no touchdowns to show for it. All of Stanford’s scoring came from place kicker Emmet Kenney, who hit two field goals.
Up next for Duke is a home game against William & Mary. That contest will be held at Wallace Wade Stadium on Sept. 26.
