The fire was reported just after 10 a.m. in the 1700 block of Wysong Court., off Lead Mine Road, about three blocks from Crabtree Valley Mall, according to the Raleigh Fire Department.

Authorities said no one was injured in the fire, which created smoke that was visible from nearby Interstate 440.

Fire damage was visible inside the home’s attached garage, with smoke still wafting from the home around 10:30 a.m.

This is the second house fire off Lead Mine Road in two days after a home sustained “significant damage” in a Wednesday afternoon fire at 5300 Belsay Drive, directly across Lead Mine Road from Raleigh Fire Station 16.

There’s no word on how Thursday’s fire started.

Raleigh fire officials said they were not sure how many people would be displaced.
